Ronan Farrar, the Founder and Director of SolarOn SA, entered the renewable energy sector in 2010, acquiring valuable knowledge and expertise while collaborating with leading solar companies. In 2020, he formally established SolarOn SA, capitalizing on the trade restrictions imposed by COVID-19 since 2019. Driven by a deep passion for renewable energy and a keen interest in technological advancements since his entry into the field, He is dedicated to addressing global warming.
With a clear vision for his enterprise, Ronan achieved success through hard work, long hours, and steadfast determination. He cultivated a team culture where every member shares his enthusiasm and dedication to the industry. Initially focused on residential installations, Ronan soon discovered his true passion for providing commercial and industrial solutions. His businesses flourished during a critical time as South Africa faced a severe electricity crisis over the past decade, leaving many citizens without power.

Cailyn Hill-Vollmer
PA to Chief Executive Officer and Head of Marketing
Cailyn provides executive, administrative, and coordination support across leadership and marketing functions. She manages scheduling, communications, document preparation, and stakeholder liaison, ensuring smooth daily operations. In addition, she assists with marketing campaigns, branding activities, and event coordination, supporting SolarOn SA’s strategic and public-facing initiatives.
Chantell Gregan
Financial Manager
Chantell oversees all financial planning, reporting, and control functions of the company. She ensures accurate budgeting, cost management, and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Her role includes managing cash flow, financial analysis, and project cost tracking, providing the leadership team with the insights needed to support sustainable growth and sound financial decision-making.
Megan Pretorius
Sales Manager
Megan is responsible for managing the end-to-end client journey, from initial engagement through to post-installation support. She oversees sales strategy, client relations, and solution development, ensuring each project aligns with client needs and SolarOn SA’s quality standards. After installation, she ensures ongoing customer satisfaction, coordinating system support, maintenance, and performance follow-ups to maintain long-term client partnerships and trust.
Tony James
Senior Electrical and Project Manager
Tony oversees the complete lifecycle of each project, from system design and engineering to execution and commissioning. They ensure every installation is technically sound, compliant with SANS and utility requirements, and optimized for performance, safety, and long-term reliability. Acting as the main client liaison, they coordinate design approvals, site works, and quality assurance to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to SolarOn SA standards.
Jerome Joel
Fleet and Warehouse Manager
Jerome is responsible for overseeing all logistics, inventory control, and fleet operations to ensure projects are efficiently supplied and supported. They manage equipment storage, material dispatch, vehicle scheduling, and asset tracking, ensuring that all resources are maintained, compliant, and delivered on time to project sites. Their role is key in maintaining operational efficiency, safety, and cost control across SolarOn SA’s installations.

Procurement Manager
Diego oversees the sourcing and supply of all materials, equipment, and services required for project delivery. They ensure that all purchases meet quality, compliance, and cost-efficiency standards, while maintaining strong relationships with local and international suppliers. Their role ensures timely procurement, inventory accuracy, and alignment with SolarOn SA’s technical specifications and sustainability goals.

His responsibilities include scheduling maintenance teams, conducting inspections, managing fault resolutions, and reporting on performance trends. Through effective supervision and technical oversight, he helps ensure maximum uptime and long-term reliability of client solar assets. He is also the team leader of Team One in the maintenance division.
